Privacy Policy

Effective date: 10 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information ClassScribe (“we”, “us”, classscribe.in) collects when you use our lecture recording, transcription, AI notes, and related services, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using ClassScribe, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, and profile details from Google/Firebase Authentication when you sign in.
  • Content you provide: audio recordings, uploaded PDFs, and other files you submit for transcription or AI processing.
  • Generated content: transcripts, AI-generated notes, summaries, mock tests, and Q&A derived from your content.
  • Payment information: processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank account details ourselves.
  • Usage data: basic technical information such as device/browser type, log data, and how you interact with the product, used to maintain and improve the service.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide the core service: recording, transcription, AI note generation, mock tests, and the Smart Library Q&A features.
  • To process payments and manage your credit/wallet balance.
  • To send transactional emails (e.g. receipts, account notices) via our email provider, Resend.
  • To enforce usage quotas and prevent abuse of free and paid tiers.
  • To maintain, secure, and improve ClassScribe.

3. How your content is processed

Audio recordings and documents you upload are stored securely on Amazon Web Services (S3) and processed using third-party AI providers (OpenAI and Google Generative AI) solely to generate transcripts, notes, and related study material for your account. We do not sell your recordings, transcripts, or notes to third parties.

These AI providers process your content under their own data-handling terms as our sub-processors, strictly to return the AI output back to ClassScribe for your use. We retain your content and generated notes for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service.

4. Third-party service providers

We rely on the following categories of service providers to operate ClassScribe, each of whom processes limited data strictly to perform their function for us:

  • Firebase Authentication — account sign-in and identity management.
  • Amazon Web Services (S3) — secure storage of audio and document files.
  • OpenAI / Google Generative AI — transcription and AI-generated content.
  • Razorpay — payment processing.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We may use standard web analytics and advertising tools (such as Google Ads conversion tracking) to understand how visitors find and use ClassScribe and to measure the effectiveness of our own advertising. These tools may use cookies or similar identifiers in your browser.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers listed above (to operate the product), when required by law, or with your consent. If ClassScribe is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, user information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data, recordings, and generated content for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated content at any time by contacting us — see Section 9.

8. Your rights and choices

  • You can access, update, or delete your account information from your profile settings, or by contacting us.
  • You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • You can withdraw consent for optional processing (such as analytics) where applicable, without affecting the core service.

9. Contact us

For any privacy questions, data requests, or concerns, contact us at hello@classscribe.in.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of ClassScribe after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
